Fay’s Dance LAB

Fay’s Dance LAB

Client: Fay Likopanti - Kotti
Discipline: Architecture
Year: 2022

This project is about a transformation of an existing warehouse ground floor plan into a dance school.
There is an entrance with the welcome room, the dance room with two doors and one extra as an emergency exit and a corrugated corridor leading to the staircase, the office, the changing room, the bathrooms and the back door of the exterior space.
The design idea for the interior space was to let the existing elaborated concrete of the structural columns visible after a certain height and the whole ceiling as well.
As a result, there is a combination of colors and materials such as the warm gray concrete at the top, the neutral gray of the doors and pavement and the wooden laminate main floor of the dance room, all reflecting to the white interior walls made of plasterboard.
In the bathrooms the tile used in the pavement continuous inside to the interior walls in order to create a monolithic and minimal aesthetic.
The space is illuminated by various spotlights and hanging lamps to add an industrial aspect and style to the architectural design.
