This project is about a custom made furniture design destinated for a living room. The cabinet is positioned between the rear wall and the heater at the center of the room.
Having these space limitations, the cabinet size is developed from the one side of the wall to the other side of the heater, while still being at a safe distance from it.
As a result, we have a design that emerges by placing the tv set at the center of that specific space, with the couch at the front instead at the center of the furniture. Indeed, the lateral size on the left of the tv set is equal to the space between the end of the cabinet and the heater. Furthermore, various shelves host a dvd player, a stereo, cds, dvds and books. Finally, the cabinet has a single compartment for other objects.
The color cast is a result of the other furniture of the living room, such as a light grey couch and a black long table, a decision made in order for them to match.
Studies were also conducted for an additional storage unit in the corridor of the residence with the same concept design.
