The project is about a custom made piece of furniture designed for the needs and desires of the young couple.
The final design was chosen by the client out of three alternative versions of the unit presented.
The main characteristic of this piece is the double coloring that emerges from the selection of two different kinds of wood, lacquer and oak, materials that were used in the exact same way in the living room of the apartment. In the particular room which is the couple’s office, the piece is attached to the walls, thus leaving enough free space for function and comfort reasons.
What is distinctive about the unit is the hidden mechanism that expands part of the table from 60 centimeters to 1 meter wide, serving as the wife’s working space for arts and crafts creation. The part of the table left is intended for the husband’s personal computer.
