The area that the architectural proposal is taking place at, is situated in the settlement of Castle zone on Kimolos island. This plot has a 4 meter high wall on the back side where the school yard is located. Furthermore, there is a ruined stone building of historical importance, and a small church that has to be maintained. Inside this plot, with these fundamental parameters, a residencial renting room complex has to be developed for turist use during all seasons of the year.

First, a new autonomous unit, based on the existing ruined building under archeological ptotection regulations has to be created. This building includes in the basement all the storage rooms that are necessary for the complex and the mechanological installations. On the ground level, there is the reception with a small waiting room and the restaurant. On the last floor, there is a private bedroom, an office and an open space that serves as a snack bar with sea view. This bar has an extra access from an exterior staircase on the ground level.

Going on and after the church that mediates, in the rest of the plot the rental rooms are developed according to the idea of a central yard, from which the ocupants can access the buildings from both sides, front and back. This configuration of the buildings and composition, is an example of traditional cycladic architecture.

This complex has the capacity to host 30 guests with rooms of the same characteristics such as, bedroom, a small living room space, kitchen, bathroom and a semi-outdoor space. Furthermore, all rooms have almost the same square meter coverage. Most of the rooms are double bedrooms, only two of them are triple. Two of the double bedrooms have an interior door attached to the double bedroom next to them, in order to have an extra option of a big four bedroom unit.

The composition of these buildings is like that in order to have a clear view towards the sea through small yards, semi-outdoor spaces and openings.
