The prime objective was the minimal possible intervention of the landscape in the Piraeus port area, because it is precisely this port that confers its unique and distinctive character of the landscape, the constant movement, the commodities, the trade not only of matter but also of ideas and culture. So we set as a priority the preservation of this special character, the hidden essence of this place. We did not want to create a utopia, unrelated to the past, aiming exclusively at the visitor-traveler, and that is where the key to our dynamic intervention lies. This place has been a frontier for centuries. A wall, a road, a forbidden zone that prevents a substantial contact with our original source of life and the aesthetic upgrading of the inhabitants. The terrain is no longer bound by limits, it swells from the hill, breaks the ancient walls and turns into a fresh ground of art, creation and discovery of things that were always there, but we have never seen. The new territory of art, creation and discovery of things that were always there, but we have never seen. The new ground will really unite, it will connect the Earth to the Sea as it once was, leaving the existing operation of the city and the port to pass below where it already happens.
The configuration does not want to necessarily eradicate the port operation from the area. Besides, what we find very interesting is the interaction of art with the frequent change of movement, which is also found in the deeper nature of the area. A place of meeting, exchange of culture, entertainment and true education, for anyone and everyone.
